Ashley Gunn, MS, LPC, Clinical Supervisor

I love my work as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I feel so blessed to have found my calling early in life. Owning my practice lets met support others and honor my needs and lifestyle as well. I live with my husband of 13 years in the West Valley with 4 awesome pets (I WILL show photos, if asked!). I hold a Bachelors of Science in Behavioral Health and a Masters of Science in Counseling; I completed my licensure hours with Christian Counseling Services in AZ. While there, I took on a leadership role and over the next 4 years we expanded the CCS network to over 25 professionals. In 2021, I left CCS and started Keyframe Therapy. I am passionate about helping my clients find lasting change and I know therapy is effective because of my own journey of healing. I am proud to offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) services and I have a passion for working with clients who have experienced all kinds of trauma and attachment injuries. I identify as a late-diagnosed neurodivergent and have worked to bring a celebration and affirmation of neurodiversity to my work.

I am independently licensed with the AZ Board of Behavioral Health Examiners under license #LPC-17929 and I am an approved clinical supervisor. I am fully trained in EMDR and have additional training in the Gottman Method for couples. When my counselor hat is off, I love to spend time with my energetic dogs, Darling and Lady, and go on breakfast dates with my husband, Matt. I like traveling, pretty flowers, and I am blessed to be an aunt to a growing group of awesome kids. My favorite hobby is crocheting with comfort TV. In fact, I often use show quotes in regular conversation, even sessions; “10 points to Hufflepuff” if you catch it!

What will therapy with me be like?

  • My goal is to foster a therapeutic journey that is rooted in understanding, growth, and healing. I aim to create a place where your unique experiences are not just heard, but deeply understood. With a profound commitment to trauma-informed care, I approach our sessions with sensitivity, recognizing the importance of holding safe space.

Together, we will embark on a transformative journey, one where you'll find your voice, reclaim your strength, and discover the beauty of your narrative. Our therapeutic alliance is a collaborative venture, uniquely designed to empower you on your path towards self-discovery and growth.

  • My practice is built upon a foundation of neurodivergent awareness, acknowledging and honoring the beautiful spectrum of minds. Whether you're seeking support for yourself or a loved one, my insights into neurodivergent experiences shape our sessions into a harmonious partnership.

Attachment lies at the heart of human connections, and I am dedicated to exploring its intricate dynamics in our work together. With insight and an affirmative atmosphere, I walk alongside you as we navigate these attachments, fostering resilience and building stronger connections.

Compassion is more than just a word – it's a commitment. I am resolute in providing a space where you can authentically be yourself. Your identity, experiences, and aspirations are met with respect and validation, nurturing a sense of belonging and acceptance.

  • I draw upon a blend of therapeutic methods tailored to your needs. This includes the transformative power of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma, Internal Family System (IFS) therapy for integrated self-discovery, attachment theory to nurture resilient connections, somatic practices to foster embodiment, and the art of non-defensive listening to create a safe haven for your thoughts and emotions, both in session and in your world.
