Are you looking for a formal Neurodivergent diagnosis?

I’m neurodivergent-informed and affirming, but I do not offer formal neurodivergent diagnosis, at this time. My approach focuses on psychoeducation and psychoanalysis for co-exploration, where we look at your experiences together and collaboratively work on how to make your relationship with neurodivergence more attuned, accommodated, and tenable. We can review diagnostic criteria to see how your experience lines up with the clinical verbiage, and if you want to pursue a formal diagnosis (most often for starting medication and/or pursuing workplace, academic, or social accommodations/benefits), I’m here to help you gather what to share with a psychologist, psychiatrist, or specialist for further assessment.

I operate this way because my training and professional development is focused on supporting neurodivergent individuals in self-discovery and self-management rather than accurately administering formal diagnostic assessments (honestly, because I’m two-scoop neurodivergent and that sounds t.e.r.r.i.b.l.e.). Since I haven’t pursued additional certifications or assessment tools for formal diagnosis, I work with clients to explore their experiences and help guide them toward next steps.

Additionally, and actually more importantly, I fully support self-diagnosis and welcome others into the neurodivergent community … because I know what it takes to get here. This comes with a trust that the spirit and intention of self-diagnosis wasn’t inherently selfish, but self-attuned. A self-attuned engagement with self-diagnosis inherently necessitates thoughtful, intentional, and resourceful curiosity about your experience of the world. The process done in good-faith ultimately must drive one to consider how to carve out the space they need and still do what they can, as a fellow human to everyone. I acknowledging the systemic, financial, and social barriers to accessing an official diagnosis, and want to be part of a movement that validates self-diagnosis, at least in part to point to how inaccessible formal diagnosis has become in our current world and society.
